Summer Reading List

pile_of_books

I always have a pile of books waiting to be read (I brought home atleast 6 from my mom on our last visit, but now that she has a kindle, that supply may start to dwindle). This summer I can’t wait to read:

The Hour I First Believed, Wally Lamb
The Road, Cormac McCarthy (this is for book club, can’t wait for the discussion)
Fall on Your Knees, Ann-Marie MacDonald
All the President’s Men, Bernstein and Woodward (I don’t know how I graduated from journalism school without reading this classic. Adam and I watched Frost/Nixon the other night and I’m more intrigued by Watergate than ever)

What are you reading this summer? What do I need to add to my list?

  • I “read” The Road last summer—actually, I listened to it in the car. It’s definitely not a happy read but I could hardly pull myself out of the driver’s seat because I got so into it.

And I can’t believe you didn’t read All the President’s Men in college! I read it in one of my Woodward classes—it’s super interesting, especially once you become a bit familiar with the key players.

    Happy reading!

Try The Soloist, if you haven’t read it. I read it one rainy afternoon recently.

Also After Etan is a great read. It’s not a happy book, but it’s quick, interesting, and once you get into it you’re going to have a hard time putting it down.
