Life is Good

Let me count the ways that it’s been a good week and promises to be a great weekend:
1. It’s a sunny Saturday

2. There are baby leaves on the trees! Seriously, this makes my soul happy. I think it’s finally spring. No more blizzards and freezing temperatures. Bring on the sun!

3. My family’s coming for Easter. I have a dozen hardboiled eggs to dye, a ham to bake, and a carrot cake to enjoy! That said, they are bringing the dog…We’ll see how that goes. I’ve joked that if the condo can’t handle him we can always put him in the bathroom or out on the balcony (and I’m only half kidding)

4. Someone came to look at our condo this morning. I try not to get my hopes up anymore, but maybe just maybe we’ll get an offer and finally be able to move!

5. I went to my favorite store in Des Moines this morning (while the Realtor was showing our place). It’s called Ephemera. If the name isn’t enough to make you smile the store and it’s friendly owners are sure to make your day. I bought some pretty cards and paper for an upcoming web project. But seriously, you HAVE to check out this store. It’s FABULOUS! If you’re a sucker for stationary and pretty things like I am you’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven. Every time I’m there I find a new book or letterpress design that I fall in love with. And if you’re ever looking for a card and want something a step up from the Hallmark variety, this is the place to go. Take my word for it. Just check it out already! You can thank me later :)

6. I got another freelance project to work on this week that is keeping me busy. I think this is the first week that I felt like I was working again and it was great!

7. Adam and I are leaving on a jet plane Wednesday night and heading West. To San Francisco to be exact, for a much-deserved vacation and a celebration of our good friends Becca and Dan getting married!

Happy weekend everyone! I hope you all can find things to smile about and enjoy in the every day.
