Meet Wally
This is Wally. The watermellon. Isn’t he handsome? I was so excited after I picked him out at the store that I had to call Adam on my way home to share my news.
And he has a tail! I knocked on his belly and he sounds hollow, so hopefully when we cut into him tomorrow he’ll be nice and juicy!
I also made a blueberry pie tonight. If you haven’t stocked up on blueberries yet stop reading this and go to the nearest grocery store and fill your cart up with the sweet juicy berries. Now! They are $1.88/pint which is a steal. If you can’t eat them all right now, I suggest freezing them. They are delightful in yogurt, on a bowl of cheerios (my current favorite), and in smoothies. Rinse them off, dry them, and pop them in the freezer. It’s that simple. You’ll thank me later. And I’ll try to take a picture of the pie when we cut it tomorrow.
It’s been a very productive night. I made one of my favorite dinners (tilappia, brown rice, and green beans), went grocery shopping, and even had time for a run. I have been throwing around the idea of running the half marathon in October again, but I honestly don’t think I’ll be ready. I’ve only been running 3 miles a few times a week. My excuse is that it’s hot out and I’m busy. What I really need is a running buddy to get me out of bed in the morning. Any volunteers?
Now it’s time to do some work on a freelance assignment and call it a night.

And a curly tail at that! He’s delightful, it makes me sad you’ll be taking a knife to his belly, eak! This must be why my mother told me not to make friends with my food.
That’s huge!
