random updates
sorry for the lack of updates and eye-candy posts lately, life has returned to a normal pace (aka I am back to working 40 hours a week) and i’m still adjusting to the change. I have all kinds of things to post, like what i’m doing at my new job (for example, today one thing I checked off my to-do list was making a fan page for Gov Terry Branstad on facebook. seriously. he even OK’d it), the weddings I can’t wait for in July, summer (as of Saturday it’s OFFICIALLY here), the incredible Green Monster smoothie that I discovered, and pictures of our new wall art.
For now I’m going to leave you with the things that make me happy from my 9:30 trip to hy-vee. it was one of those nights where it was stormy when I got home from work, but somehow I mustered up the ambition to go to the gym—I haven’t been since I started work, adam had to work late so we didn’t have dinner ’til almost 8:30 and I did 3 loads of laundry. but i knew if i didn’t go to the store tonight our prospects for eating anything besides condiments and stale bread tomorrow were bleak.
So I headed to Hy-Vee, without a list. Not something I recommend when you’re already tired and easily distracted. So I went a little overboard on the fresh produce. I couldn’t resist white peaches, blueberries at a decent price, cantalope, grapes, lemons, and bananas—don’t lecture me on the fact that they all had to be shipped from God knows where. They are fresh and sweet smelling and they make me happy! I also got thick, bone-in pork chops that Adam will grill, whole-wheat flat wraps (I’ve never tried these before), and enough spinach to feed an army (more on that in my post about the Green Monster).
So the fridge is full and I’m ready to wind down before the fun starts tomorrow!

I can’t wait for more updates about work and the Green Monster and everything else! Glad to hear things are going well.
